Service could be quicker but overall a great place to eat. Delicious food, very good service, had a lovely evening in this beautiful country pub.

Had Sunday lunch but meat was like pre sliced pressed Frey bentos or birds eye. Not cut from a proper roasted joint which was a shame. Roast spuds where dry and outside was hard to cut not a fresh roast potato. Veg was ok and Yorkshire. We had a lovely meal, with generous portions and it was very reasonably priced. The staff Denise and Stuart were very friendly, attentive and we had an excellent service. Food really good, decent portions we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Impressive portion sizes of roasts. Almost too,ugh for me but very good value. Great place to take the family. The Sunday roasts are absolutely the best I've had anywhere. Staff are very friendly and happily adapt the menu for fussy youngsters. We went on a Sunday and had an amazing roast dinner. The beef literally melted in my mouth. It was beautifully cooked.

I'd recommend being hungry when you go as there was empty of food on our plates.

Food was great and the staff were very friendly. Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. The tempura prawns were delicious and the honeycomb ice cream was lovely! The staff were very friendly. There was a lovely ambience for a Wednesday night. The restaurant part of the pub was very busy. The journey there was quite interesting and I would imagine could be quite nice in the summer as it was through woods.

The song is popular all over the country, and there are numerous printed copies, ancient and modern. Although he said that there was little variation in the text, he included three melodies and a fourth in an appendix, none of which is the most widely known one today. A legend in Little Leigh , Cheshire , suggests that the song is based on the life of the Reverend Thomas Fownes Smith and was written by his brother-in-law, Charles Whitehead born Smith was the minister at Little Leigh Baptist Chapel for more than 30 years, where a plaque in his memory is located on the inside rear wall.

It is this melody that has been arranged as a regimental march for the Royal Canadian Medical Service , a number of Commonwealth regiments and the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.
