Pavel's Enter The Kettlebell! I ended up creating my own workouts just by choosing one or two exercises out of the different chapters of the Complete Guide, such as two exercises from chapter 1, one from chapter 2, and so on. You can structure a pretty decent full body workout this way, and with so many exercises to choose from, you could never do the same workout twice. But, it would have been nice if Steve provided a few routine examples. Putting the lack of routines aside, this is one of the best fitness related books in my collection.
Every exercise is fully explained, illustrated and demonstrated, no wonder it took over one year to complete the book. I was skeptical of KB training at first, but now I'm thinking if you bought four sets of KB's of different weight's, and a couple of boxes to step up on, you could replace a fully equipped gym! I thought the book and DVD combo were a bit expensive at first, but now I'm thinking it was a bargain because of all of the info you receive.

Steve doesn't say anything in the clips, meaning that this book and DVD combo doesn't make the encyclopedia DVDs obsolete. As an aid to learning the KB techniques, this is the resource I've been looking for.
I've been wanting something to show people without having to refer to the DVDs or actually pick up a KB and start swinging. I've also been looking for something to use as a reference in my training space and this is it. I highly recommend the book. A unique feature is the accompanying DVD. This shows all the movements as they are performed. There is no dialogue, just the exercises.
I really like this combination because you get to see the movement broken down in the book and also performed on the video. The video menus are arranged in such a way that it is easy to quickly find what you are after without having to navigate through a bunch of stuff that you aren't interested in at the moment.
Some companies might sell the book and DVD separately. I applaud Steve for taking the high road here. The video quality is good as are the color photos in the book. The chapters are logically organized as one would expect of any good reference source. Steve Cotter draws from an extensive and diverse background as a champion athlete and cutting-edge trainer to develop some of the most complete and exciting programs in strength and conditioning today.
